I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and currently live in Howard County, Maryland, right in between Washington D.C. and Baltimore. I've had an interest in nutrition for as long as I can remember which stems from my love of food. Yes, I am a proud foodie! I love all the fun associated with food such as tastes, textures, colors, presentation and most importantly bringing people together. However, I also want to understand the composition of food, how food is broken down in the body and how different foods impact the body and our health. I love the fact that food is the one common thread that we all share.
Food is one of the great pleasures in life and should be savored and enjoyed to its fullest. At the same time, we need to be aware of what we are eating so that we can eat sensibly. I enjoy cooking and finding new healthy and delicious recipes. Check out my Pinterest page for some of my favorites! My philosophy is to eat more of the good, less of the bad and to take the time to understand nutrition so smart choices can be made on a daily basis.
